Kashmir Visiting Points

Kashmir is often called the “Switzerland of India” because of its stunning natural beauty. The state is home to some of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, including Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam. Here are some of the best places to visit in Kashmir:

1. Srinagar: Srinagar is the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. The city is known for its beautiful lakes, gardens, and houseboats. Some of the must-visit places in Srinagar include Dal Lake, Nigeen Lake, Mughal Gardens, Shankaracharya Hill, and Hazratbal Mosque.

2. Gulmarg: Gulmarg is a small town located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most popular ski resorts in India and also offers some stunning views of the Himalayas. Some of the must-visit places in Gulmarg include Gondola (cable car), Apharwat Peak, Alpather Lake, Nanga Parbat peak, and more.

3. Pahalgam: Pahalgam is a small town located in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most popular hill stations in India and also serves as base camp for Amarnath Yatra – an annual Hindu pilgrimage to Amarnath Cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Arang Kel

Arang Kel is a village in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located in the Kupwara district, on the banks of the Jhelum River. The village has a population of about 1,500 people.

The villagers are mostly farmers and earn their livelihood by growing crops like rice, wheat and maize. They also rear livestock like cows, goats and chickens. Fishing is another occupation of the villagers.

The village has a government primary school where children up to grade 5 receive education. There is no secondary school in the village and children have to travel to nearby towns for higher studies. The nearest medical facility is a government health centre which is about 10 km from the village.

There are no doctors available at this centre and villagers have to travel to Srinagar, which is about 60 km away, for any serious medical treatment. Most of the houses in Arang Kel are made of mud and stone with thatched roofs. There is no electricity or running water in the village.

Families use kerosene lamps for lighting purposes and collect water from the river for their daily needs.

Conclusion Kel is an amazing place to visit with plenty to do and see. The food is great, the people are friendly and there’s always something going on. I highly recommend Kel to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing holiday.
