He will also star in the upcoming action film Project X-traction. Cena was born on April 23, 1977 in West Newbury, Massachusetts. He began his wrestling career with Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) in 1999.
In 2000, he signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). Cena made his WWF television debut on June 27, 2002. He quickly rose to prominence within the company, winning the United States Championship three times and the world heavyweight championship once.
Cena has also won several other titles, including the WWE Tag Team Championship and the WWE Hardcore Championship. In addition to his wrestling career, Cena has pursued an acting career since 2006. His first starring role was in The Marine, which was released direct-to-video in 2006.
The following year, he appeared in the feature film Fred: The Movie based on YouTube user “fred”. In 2009, he starred in 12 Rounds alongside Aidan Gillen and Brian White. The movie received mixed reviews but grossed $15 million its opening weekend.
2010 saw Cena appear alongside Danny Glover and Brooke Shields Âin Legendary; however it was a box office bomb only making $5 million against its $15 million budget.. Despite this flop John had 3 movies come out that did well do to dvd sales those being Trainwreck where he played Steve Buscemi’s son , Sisters playing Mark Ruffalo’s brother again ,and finally Daddy’s Home where he played Will Ferrell’s stepfather .
All 3 of these were comedies . In 2019 2 more of John’s comedy movies came out one being Playing with Fire where he played a firefighter protecting some kids from danger ,the second being Blockers which is about some parents trying to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night . 2020 will see another 2 of John’s movies come out one being Fast & Furious 9 as Luke Hobbs long lost brother who wants revenge for what happened to him ,and lastly Dolittle where John plays Dr .Dolittle himself .
