Schools in Pakistan are set to reopen on Monday after being closed for over three months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision to reopen schools was taken during a meeting of the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) on Sunday. Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that all schools, including boarding schools, will reopen from Monday.

He added that SOPs will be put in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. Mahmood also announced that exams for classes 9-12 will be held from May 24-June 14, while those for classes 6-8 will be held from June 15-July 2. The minister said that examinations for classes 5 and below will not be held this year.
