Coca-Cola Bottle Evolution

Coca-Cola is one of the most popular beverages in the world. The company has been around for over 125 years and during that time, the Coca-Cola bottle has undergone a few changes. Here is a look at the evolution of the Coca-Cola bottle:

The very first Coca-Cola bottles were made of glass and were designed to be returned to the store once they were empty. The bottles had straight sides and a small lip at the top. In 1915, Coca-Cola introduced its now-iconic contoured bottle.

This design was inspired by a cocoa bean pod and was meant to make the bottle easier to hold. The new bottles were also made of green glass to help them stand out from other beverage containers on store shelves. Over the years, there have been a few minor changes to the contoured Coca-Cola bottle.

In 1955, for example, the bottom of the bottle was slightly flattened to make it more stable when placed on a table or countertop. In 1977, lettering was added tothe base ofthe bottle so that people would know it contained Coca-Cola even ifthe labelwas torn off. Today, you can still find Coke bottles with the classic contoured shape but you’ll also see some updated versions that feature a sleeker design.

No matter what form they take, Coca-Cola bottles are always recognizable thanks to their unique shape and red and white color scheme.
