Nawaz Sharif Grandfather History
Nawaz Sharif’s grandfather, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was a lawyer, politician, and the founder of Pakistan. Born in British India to a wealthy family of Muslim merchants, Jinnah initially trained as a barrister in London before returning to India to set up his own practice. He became involved in politics through the Indian National Congress and later joined the Muslim League.
In 1940, he negotiated the Lahore Resolution, which called for an independent state for India’s Muslims. Jinnah served as Pakistan’s first Governor-General after its independence from Britain in 1947. He died just over a year later, but his legacy continues to shape Pakistani politics and society today.
Sharif is one of Pakistan’s most prominent politicians and has served as Prime Minister on three occasions.
