3 . Tortuguero National Park: Tortuguero National Park is located on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and is known for its turtle nesting sites. The park protects over 20 miles (32 km) of coastline and consists mostly of canals and lagoons that are teaming with wildlife including caiman, crocodiles, monkeys, snakes, and turtles.
Visitors can take boat tours through the canals or explore the jungle trails on foot or by bicycle. 4 . Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve: The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is located in northwest Costa Rica near the town of Santa Elena.
The reserve protects over 35 square miles (91 sq km) of cloud forest which is home to an incredible array of plants and animals including jaguars, ocelots, sloths, toucans ,and hummingbirds . Visitors can explore the forest via hiking trails or zip lines .
