Boston Celtics Owner Steve Pagliuca
Steve Pagliuca is the co-owner of the Boston Celtics. He is also a business executive, philanthropist, and former college basketball player. Pagliuca played for Duke University and was a member of the team that won the NCAA Championship in 1986.
He later worked as an investment banker at Bain Capital before becoming a part-owner of the Celtics in 2003. Pagliuca is a major contributor to various charitable causes. He has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including The Partnership for Strong Communities and Teach For America.
In 2010, Pagliuca and his wife, Peggy, donated $50 million to Harvard Business School to create The Steve & Peggy Peskoe-Pagliuca Initiative for their work with social entrepreneurs.

In 2008, the Boston Celtics won their seventeenth NBA championship. The team’s starting five consisted of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Kendrick Perkins. Head coach Doc Rivers led the team to a 66-16 record during the regular season.
In the playoffs, the Celtics defeated the Atlanta Hawks in seven games in the first round, swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games in the second round, and then defeated the Detroit Pistons in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals. They went on to defeat Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in six games in the NBA Finals to win their first championship since 1986.
