Ministry of Sports Pakistan
The Ministry of Sports, Pakistan, is a governmental body responsible for the development and promotion of sports in Pakistan. The ministry was established in 1958. The current minister is Nawaz Sharif.
The mission of the ministry is to develop and promote physical education and sports in Pakistan so as to create healthy, well-educated and physically strong citizens. The ministry organizes different sporting events at national level such as National Games, Inter-Provincial Games and South Asian Games. The ministry also runs a number of academies for training young athletes such as National Institute of Sports (NIS) Islamabad, Naseer Bunda Hockey Academy Rawalpindi, Pak Sport Board Coaching Centre Doha Qatar etc.
